A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of our clients based in Lancashire, they are a team of experts on delivering both unique architectural features and artworks that add real value to a project and serve as a focal point.

They create intricate sculptures and designs and artistic productions in glass using a variety of techniques. They are now looking for a Glass Studio Technician to join their team immediately.

Responsibility & Duties

  • Assisting in the studio with day to day production using the full variety of glass processing methods employed by Daedalian.
  • Daily timesheet compliance, ensuring all time is accounted for, detailing it to the nearest 15 minutes.
  • Clean and tidy workspace both before and after occupying an area of the studios. General maintenance of all equipment, tools, and machinery.
  • Accepting deliveries and checking them against the items delivered in terms of dimension, shape and overall quality, according to the purchase order.
  • Personal development: working with your line manager to gain training and experience necessary to become fully competent in all aspects described in this role. Able to use the company's appraisal structure to do this and keep a consistent open dialogue on your performance and skills progression with your line manager.

Experience & Qualification

  • Able to handle a glass of various weights, sizes and shapes - competent in lifting and carrying, storing, cleaning, measuring and the appropriate safety measures necessary.
  • A high level of glass processing skills, e.g. cutting, polishing, kiln work, laminating, bonding, mold making, casting & Sand Blasting.
  • Competent level of IT Skills, including Microsoft suit, Auto Cad or similar, outlook & Excel.
  • Knowledge of how bespoke glass structures are created, the work processes involved in design, test, and finish.
  • The use of power tools.
  • A full clean driving license.
