The client have a strong set of Mechanical Construction Managers in place but need somebody senior to take the lead.

The successful candidate must be able to get involved in pre-construction and have a stable working history working for either a mechanical sub-contractor or a similar sized main contractor.

This company have a full order book of projects for at least the next 5 years but have been established for the last 50 years and will continue to build and develop in Europe and Central London.

This role will report into the Services Director and main duties will consist of:

  • Coordinate Mechanical design, work with consultants and subcontractors
  • As a Mechanical Leadyou will prepare the project programme, including the delivery strategy and ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Ensure smooth and timely flow of information between all parties to the contract.
  • Endeavour to identify and predict potential delays and action remedies
  • Keeping the project stakeholders informed of progress, cost and any other relevant issues.
  • Review project scope, and manage the budget and schedule.
  • Manage safety and quality aspects of the project in accordance with company procedures
  • Agree valuations and final accounts with contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Establish performance and delivery criteria, ensuring that client requirements are being met
  • As part of the day to day duties, the mechanical lead will be tasked to develop and administer quality control provisions; liaise on project cost estimating and value engineering, as appropriate
  • Liaise with the client on KPI development and implementation
  • Authorise the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and change orders in addition to approving contractor invoices for payment
  • As a member of the management team, you will represent the Company in business with customers, consultants, contractors, and other public and/or private agencies and organisations
  • Research and prepare various reports pertaining to contractual issues, operations, policies, procedures, and/or other issues, as appropriate
  • Planning of all resources including labour, materials and sub-contractors
  • As a Mechanical Project Lead you will be tasked with managing and driving a large team to meet with all project requirements and deadlines
  • Develop a detailed schedule with the project planner

You do not need to be able to speak French as the language on site is British and most of the sub-contractors are from the UK.

As stated about the relocation package is very appealing, it includes all travel paid from home to site, an apartment and a monthly living allowance.

I feel this is a great opportunity to work abroad but be close to the UK with the added bonus of being able to come home every weekend!
