My client are a well known main contractor with offices in Central London and many other regional offices across the UK. Last year they had a turnover that was approaching £300 million and are looking to increase this to £500 million in the foreseeable future. They work in retail, general construction and in fit out and projects range in value from £1 - £100 million. With an average project at around £5 million.

Due to the increase work load they are looking for somebody to add to their current bid team. They are unusual in the fact for this Bid Management position they are open to all different backgrounds within construction. Most main contractors generally only take people from a Design Management or Commercial background, however this client are open to meeting with people as long as they have a good understanding of construction. So the ideal candidate could be a Proposals Coordinator or a Bid Writer or even from a site background. They are just looking for somebody that can understand what the Estimator will be speaking about or what the Pre-Con team will be talking about.

This role will be working alongside the estimating and pre-construction team in managing bids and to be involved in winning multi million pound projects. The Bid team also cover all aspects of construction so you will not be pigeon holed into a particular type of construction projects, therefore your job will be varied and no day will be the same.

The successful Bid Manager will report into the Head of Bids and work closely with a well established team, other duties will be:

*Managing bid submissions in liaison with the Bid Team Manager
*Liaison with the internal pre-construction team
*Working on the content
*Driving deadlines
*Reporting progress and issues to the Bid Team Manager
*Checking content
*Managing the process
*Offer assistance, support and mentoring to other team members
