Are you a Quantity Surveyor with experience within the residential sector either new build or refurbishment schemes? My client is a well-respected regional contractor who due to a large increase in workload, requires an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their busy commercial team.
They are a privately owned family run company that very much have a flexible approach to work, also working a very short week finishing around 3.30 on a Friday. The existing commercial team is made up of seven Surveyor's, one trainee and a commercial manager who all enjoy a relaxed and flexible working environment to suit, choosing either a late or early start depending on personal preference. They have a very good team spirt, although they have their own individual projects, they do work a s a team and support each other.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will provide financial management on a variety of residential new build and refurbishment projects, ensuring that the measurement, valuation and cash flow on assigned projects are managed effectively. You will work closely with your colleagues within the commercial team, managing procurement, sub-contractor accounts, variations, client meetings, preparation of monthly reports and CVRs and all other duties typically associated with the role of Quantity Surveyor.
The company has projects starting in Manchester, Wigan, Liverpool and Warrington, and actively tendering for other work in similar areas. You will be working on your own new project from the start, which is a £5M new build housing, 46 units in total and has around 18 months build plan.
You will ideally be degree level qualified and have achieved or be working towards MRICS or equivalent professional level and have the appropriate depth of experience of all aspects of quantity surveying in the building industry, including; sub-contract accounts & procurement cost monitoring, materials, codes, standards and specification and Best Practice Procedures.
For your skills and experience the role carries a salary of £45,000 to £48,000 basic plus a £4,500 car allowance and excellent comprehensive benefits package which includes Pension scheme, Health scheme, life insurance an excellent 34 days holiday. (15.30 early finish every Friday).
